Planned Parenthood and the Hypocrisy of Human Rights

Update: Multiple videos have been released since this posting.

“If the unborn is not a human person, no justification for abortion is necessary. If the unborn is a human person, then no justification for abortion is adequate.” -Gregory Koukl

imgresAs you may know by now (or not, since all of the major news outlets are taking plenty of time before mentioning anything), Planned Parenthood sells body parts of their aborted babies.

This undercover video shows Planned Parenthood’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Deborah Nucatola, selling the body parts of these babies. Mind you, this is not the first time Planned Parenthood has been reported of doing such things as there have been reports of this since 2000, so this is not new for them.

However, this video shows undisputedly their practice of doing this. And it is quite chilling to watch.

We shouldn’t be shocked by this. Sickened, saddened, and angered yes, but not shocked. Because if you don’t think that an unborn baby is a human being, then when you are selling their “parts,” you could argue it is no different than selling car parts. Though how ironic is it that even Planned Parenthood calls them body parts, yet argue that they aren’t aborting human bodies.

Russell Moore had this to say,

Is it any wonder that the abortion rights lobby held up congressional human trafficking legislation because it did not fund abortion? It turns out, abortion is itself a driver of human trafficking. Those who are deemed too “useless” to be considered persons are quite “useful” to be sold for parts. Those who are deemed “unwanted,” are quite “wanted” when their severed organs bring in money.

Which brings us to the irony and hypocrisy of all of this. In the past few weeks we have seen people celebrating and arguing about human rights with the SCOTUS decision on gay marriage, as well as debates about the racism and discrimination of the Confederate flag. Yet we see nowhere near the outrage from stories like this (or Kermit Gosnell a couple of years back).

What does Planned Parenthood have to do with racism? Of course the awful statistics that minority women in the U.S. constitute about 13% of the female population (ages 15-44) but undergo approximately 36% of abortions. Or that black women are more than 5 times as likely as white women to have an abortion. Or that, on average, 1,876 black babies are aborted every day in the United States.

Or the founder of Planned Parenthood herself, Margaret Sanger an outspoken racist and advocate of “racial purification.” She said things like this:

“Slavs, Latin, and Hebrew immigrants are human weeds…a deadweight of human waste. Blacks, soldiers, and Jews are a menace to the race.”

Or this:

“We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”

You cannot support Planned Parenthood and say #LoveWins or claim to stand against racism and discrimination. The abortion industry itself is financially fueled by racism, and discriminates against the very lives of innocent human beings. There is no love in this.

Which is why I started with the quote stating that the right or wrongness of abortion comes down to one central belief: Are we killing a human being or are we not? If we are, there is no justification for such a horrendous genocide.
