π‘ 2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
I. There rarely is an optimal time to get started. Improvement happens by doing, not thinking about doing. Getting started changes everything.

II. Focus on your practice.
A wedding is an event, but love is a practice.
A marathon is an event, but fitness is a practice
Graduation is an event, but education is a practice.
A church service is an event, but walking with Jesus is a practice.
An apology is an event, but forgiveness is a practice.
Focus on your practice.
π¬ 2 HELPFUL QUOTES
I. Charles Miller on those who criticize:
"A healthy person wonβt judge you for struggling with a workout. A millionaire wonβt judge you for starting a business or investing $1. A pro writer wonβt judge you for posting something that isnβt perfect. Successful people rarely criticize. Boos come from the cheap seats.
II. Thomas Szasz on what it takes to learn:
βEvery act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to oneβs self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily; and why older persons, especially if vain or important, cannot learn at all.β
π 1 BRIEF BOOK REVIEW
This is a book showing how America has changed and developed since the end of WWII. The book is divided into related sections and contains 100 charts (so it is not a long read), each with about a page of written information.
It was certainly interesting. But with so much information, it is hard to take much specifically away from the book (not that the author is at flute here, that's what happens with a book like this).
However, sometimes the charts were a little confusing, and other times I thought the conclusions by the author were unnecessarily political in nature (as in let the data speak for itself, not your interpretation of what it means).
Also, just because some things are different than they were say 40 years ago, it doesn't automatically make it bad, which was the vibe the author often gave.
Interesting, but because of the above, it wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be.
