⏱️ You can try, or you can train

💡 2 THOUGHTS FROM ME

I. You can try, or you can train.

  • You can try to be a good leader, or you can train by reading, learning, and improving.

  • You can try to be a better spouse, or you can train by understanding your spouse’s needs, wants, and desires.

  • You can try to be healthy, or you can train by consistently focusing on how you eat and exercise.

Trying is about effort in the moment; training is about commitment and continuous improvement.

When you try something, you're testing it out, seeing how it goes, and hoping for the best. There’s no real plan, structure, or way to measure success.

When you train, you have a purpose, a strategy, and clear markers of growth over time.

Trying hopes for results. Training expects progress.

If you're feeling stuck in any area of your life, it’s likely because you’re trying but not training.

You can try, or you can train.

II. Following Jesus doesn’t make everything better, but He is better than everything.

We don’t follow Jesus for a quick fix or to get everything we want in life. In fact, if we could see what God sees, we wouldn’t even want everything we currently desire.

Jesus Himself said, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

If you follow Jesus expecting life to improve on your terms, you’re not really following Him—you’re using Him.

Ironically, all our true and good desires will one day be fulfilled in Jesus, but that promise isn’t for right now. Following Jesus doesn’t guarantee an easy life, but it does guarantee a better one. His followers know they are:

Loved by God.
Forgiven by God.
Accepted by God.
Given purpose by God.
Redeemed by God.
Invited into the Kingdom of God.

When we follow Jesus, we get Him. And when we have Him, we have all the promises of God.

💬 1 HELPFUL QUOTE

Greg McKeown on living a better life:

“If you don’t prioritize your life, someone else will. Most people think success is about doing more. In reality, it’s about doing less but better. The disciplined pursuit of less will help you focus on what truly matters and eliminate what doesn’t.”

📖 1 BRIEF BOOK REVIEW

Glucose Revolution Jessie Inchauspe

An informative and easy-to-read book about how your glucose levels play such a huge part in weight gain, health, and overall well-being.

Glucose levels matter for everyone, not just those with diabetes. The author does a good job explaining the biology of it all and gives a lot of practical and simple ways to manage your glucose levels.

There are also many graphs with examples of how and what to eat, and you can not even change your diet at all, but simply change the order in which you eat, to lead to significant results.

The author did a great job delivering on the book's title. If you want a helpful read on improving your health, I would recommend this book. It is a well-written book for its niche.
