The Best Minute: Financial advice, caring what people think, and feeling less busy
2 QUOTES FROM OTHERS
I. Sasha Aickin with some financial advice:
“When you buy something cheap and bad, the best you’re going to feel about it is when you buy it. When you buy something expensive and good, the worst you’re going to feel about it is when you buy it.”

II. 3 things my dad told me often growing up:
You reap what you sow
You reap later than you sow
You reap more than you sow
2 IDEAS FROM ME
I. We fear failure in large part because we are afraid of what people will think if we fail. But instead of thinking about “people” in general, think about specific, individual people. Are you really that concerned with what each individual person will think? Likely not as much as the mythical collective of people.
When trying something new, don’t think of people in general, think of individuals. Once you do, you’ll likely find yourself less concerned with what “people” think and more concerned with giving it a try.

II. One way to feel less busy is to remove the word “busy” from your vocabulary. Say things like, “I have a full month this month,” or “I have a lot going on right now” are much better alternatives.
Busy sounds passive; as if our schedules are beyond our control. When we use other words to describe our situation, it brings clarity to what is going on and encourages us to take steps to adjust what we are doing.
1 INTERESTING FACT
Like land animals, many marine animals migrate during different seasons, even if they don’t move geographically.
Seasonal changes in oxygen levels force many fish, crustaceans, and mollusks to relocate higher or lower within the water column based on the season.
