💡 1 IDEA FROM ME
Value provided, not time spent, is what matters. It’s why plumbers or graphic designers or coders can be paid hundreds of dollars for something that takes them 20 minutes to do. They can command high fees for tasks completed swiftly.
They provided something you couldn’t do on your own, irrespective of the time taken to do it.
Ultimately, you are paying them for the experience, not their time. Consider a musician’s 45-minute performance - while the duration may seem short, it encompasses years of dedicated practice and training, which is what you’re truly paying to witness.
The world rewards you for the value provided, not the time spent. Success comes when you increase the quality of what you can offer.
Is there a skill you need to spend more time cultivating today that will increase your value tomorrow?
💬 2 QUOTES FROM OTHERS
I. Tunku Abdul Rahman on patience:
“Some people think that as soon as you plant a tree, it must bear fruit. We must allow it to grow a bit.”
———————————
II. Mindy Kaling on how to grow in self-confidence:
“People talk about confidence without ever bringing up hard work. That’s a mistake. I know I sound like some dour older spinster on Downton Abbey who has never felt a man’s touch and whose heart has turned to stone, but I don’t understand how you could have self-confidence if you don’t do the work…
Because confidence is like respect; you have to earn it.”
📖 1 BRIEF BOOK REVIEW
Money Magic by Laurence J. Kotlikoff.
This book had some really good insights. However, so much of it was around social security/retirement that I’d highly recommend it for those 60+. For someone like me, almost the entire first half of the book wasn’t relevant.
It was also too technical at times, which left me confused. It’s not a bad book, but the topics were often super focused, and if you didn’t fall in that specific category it wasn’t all that helpful. Again, some helpful insights depending on your life situation, for me it wasn’t that great overall.
5.5/10
💯 1 THING I RECOMMEND
Contour Legacy Leg & Knee Support Pillow
Last week I shared the pillow that I use to sleep on. If you often sleep on your side and don’t like your knees to touch, this knee pillow is much better than using your blanket. I also use this every night and throw it in my suitcase whenever I travel. I’ve been using my current knee pillow for years and have never had to replace it.
🤔 1 QUESTION TO LEAVE YOU WITH
Instead of constantly seeking new ideas, what if you simply focused on the best idea you can think of right now?
P.S. How do they do it?
